The faster pace sets have really helped our pins find new success IMO. They desperately needed some speed. I'm happy that Robyn allowed something a little bit faster. It actually isn't even much faster, it's also Kate flat out making better decisions and the passing being markedly better allowing Hawaii to be in system more times than not. I hope the Wahine continues this trend win or lose.

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but Michella Chester on NCAA.com has UH & UCSB winning their first round matches on her Bracket Predictions video (8:00 and 11:33 marks) and has them as dark horses to watch out for in another. I hope she's right.

Like it has been all season long, it will be how the Wahine comes out and plays. If the Wahine play like they did against Cal Poly and UCSB about 3 weekends ago, it will be 1 and done. But if the Wahine play like they did in the BWC Tournament, they have a good chance of advancing. So again, the match will depend on how the Wahine play on their side of the floor. This Wahine Team is so difficult to predict. They can play really outstanding, or very average to atrocious.

wahinefan.. I agree with you on watching Duckworth and if Wachholtz is out.. we could have a good chance. Looked liked Wachholtz rolled it bad. I would definitely try serve to Duckworth though. Side note: Gonzalez has a very heavy hand and their setter likes to dump a lot.

This is a close match up and should be one of the better 1st rounds.

Duckworth and Gonzales remind me a lot of Brooke Van Sickle and Jolie Rasmussen, both in stature and skill set. Duckworth is a real six rotation dynamo who is all over the court and Gonzales can bring it high and hard.

It starts at 2 pm Hawaii time, I gotta stay off social media during that time. I can't handle the stress of watching the game live.

I listed the furthest level each season, so 3+2+4=9.
