Dear Santa. Please bring us a middle (maybe a COVID year grad student looking for a good UIUC masters), and some project pins looking for a change of scenery and to play/learn with Raina.

I know a few folks have remarked about a need for a transfer middle but I'm feeling pretty good about Cari + whoever steps up for the second spot. I particularly like what we've seen from Ashlyn Philpot's prep game footage. Good quickness and runs a nice slide. Looking forward to seeing her in Huff next year.

Understanding the limitations of scouting by video highlights, I think Philpot is going to be just fine. Tall but quick lateral movement. Runs an effective slide. If we have to choose between a transfer middle and a transfer left pin, I vote for the left pin. Also, a transfer DS would be helpful.
Just listened to an interesting interview with the new Indiana football coach. Don’t ask why I was listening, I have no idea. However, he observed he always got a lot more help at his former school from FCS transfers as opposed to P5 transfers. More to prove, better attitude, and overlooked originally which creates a little bit of a chip on the shoulder. As great as it would be to get someone like Whitney, I suspect mid-majors are a more likely source of help.

NW just parted ways with Shane Davis. Maybe we can snag their big OH , Sangiacomo. No transfer issues with a coaching change. Prob has the grades to get into U of I.
