She’s first team this year for sure. I don’t know how they do it these days with all these teams lol but she will be the highest team. And next year POY potential. I would agree about first team all-B1G this year. It would be lunacy if she were left off that list. Has to be AA of some level. Third team at absolute lowest, IMO. I still think it’s wild that she flew under the radar (on the bench) for two years, behind two previous number one recruits, and is now outplaying both. What a glow up.

Hansons really got so much spring. After a few years of regular back row attack foot faults, have barely heard of one this season

What I like about Julia is she hits the ball. I mean she smashes it. And it spread to the rest of the team.

Oh me too. Maybe even 2nd team. But 1st team all-B1G is crowded with comparable or better seniors plus players like Eva Hudson and Mimi Colyer She’s first team this year for sure. I don’t know how they do it these days with all these teams lol but she will be the highest team. And next year POY potential. I thought so, too, until I started breaking it down. The BIG has an insane amount of talent at OH/Opps. I'd say the following 9 will be ranked ahead of Julia: Beeson, Murray, Mruzik, Franklin, Hudson, Colyer, Batenhorst, Terry, and Londot. Julia's in with a group that includes: Hannah, Chicoine, Leverette, and maybe Ohwobete. Julia deserves 1st team BIG, but there may not be enough slots. My guess is that the BIG will overload at the expense of the other positions. I feel that Julia, Phoebe, and Shaff will be named BIG 2nd team and that Wucherer will be Minnesota's Sportsmanship honoree.

Hanson is 7th in B1G play in kps, higher than Beeson, Murray and Batenhorst. Of the leaders her hit pct is 3rd behind Franklin and Hudson. She doesn't get as many digs as the top OH though, so if the voters care about that, she may drop to 2nd team.

I don’t agree with it, but that’s how it will play out. Nebraska is unusual (in a good way obviously look at their record), because they spread out their offense so much. Both of those players are keys to their success. And batenhorst will because she’s gotten some over-hyped bubble around her that will put her in with the rest.

And within .06 of #2 in hitting percentage for OHs. Her numbers are better than Battenhorst's. What "over-hyped" bubble would justify Battenhorst in and Julia out?

Have you watched any USC matches this year? lol it’s like Cris Collinsworth calling a Mahomes game. It’s all they talk about

It’s all they talk about Former Nebraska player clout is the only logical thing. Kinda like the former Texas girls at NC State with Luka Slabe (hilarious and fun to watch Julia and the fighting Haggerties silence the arena). In barely related Gopher news, former Gopher Natalie Glenn is having herself a season at LBSU and will play Cal Poly in the semifinal of BWC tournament. In case anyone wants to watch more volleyball and has Hulu.

Hanson is an absolute lock for Big 10 First Team. It’s voted for by opposing coaches, they understand that Julia was the only thing keeping this team going for a lot of the roughest stretches. They also like spreading the love, every team finishing ahead of us has either a middle, setter, or both making the team along with their star pin.

One person per team is selected for outstanding achievement on and off the court.
