To carter booth, who said she wanted to leave the gophers to play for Wisconsin to experience a national championship: uh, no comment. She got much further than the gophers did. The switch clearly was a good one. Good switch for Jenna Wenaas too.

I've followed every match this season, Rob. A single standout performance isn't enough to convince me of her passing skills. We NEED elite-level passing if we want to win a natty. The season-long struggles, evident in her not being the libero, highlight this. Orzol wouldn't be considered for libero if GG were a consistently great passer. GG had double-digit digs tonight, and was pretty much the only player who did anything from the service line - 11 points scored on 17 serves. Oregon was NOT her "single standout performance". If there was a "single standout performance" - one unlike the others - tonight was it. Certainly, let's agree to disagree. I hope GG can enhance her serve receive and overall defending. It's noticeable that opponents target her, indicating there's room for improvement in her passing and that they may scout her as the weakest link. It's noteworthy that GG scored 11 points on 17 serves tonight. However, I don't see it as a standout moment; she essentially fulfilled her role. If she had achieved 4+ aces like UT, that would be cause for celebration. While Wisconsin faced serving challenges as a team, it doesn't elevate GG to hero status for meeting the standard

CC and Dev walking would be incredibly devastating. Tosia will not only be new to college, but new to the US and could see similar adjustment struggles like GG. Dev provides starting MB and starting/backup potential for the RS. We can’t go into 2024 thin like this year. Why would either CC or Dev transfer? My apologies, I was responding to a thought from earlier where someone speculated that with the upcoming logjam on the middle and right that someone would transfer out. I didn't mean to imply that they would or should - neither have stated any intention of doing so, in fact.

2024
Number 1 goal should be to FIX libero position. Hopefully Dammrow or Schumacher are up to the challenge.

Has the B1G announced how they are going to do scheduling for the fall? Will it be 14 singletons and 3 home and homes?

2 freshman setters just took their team to the national championship game. With Robinson, Smrek, Franklin and Crawford in their last year we need to be ready to compete for a natty next year. Luckily it sounds like Charlie will be up to that task. Putting a LOT of pressure on a freshman that won't start early. We're going to start out with a bunch of struggles I think as the team iron out the connections on the fly. Might not see a fully clicking Wisconsin till late in the season. Which is fine, but it means we might not be in contention for hosting. I think she’s our starting setter the second she walks in the door. Some struggles early can be expected but I think that’s going to be the same for lots of top teams not named Nebraska. Having an experienced core around her hopefully helps her settle in quickly.

I tried and failed finding a VT discussion of what people thought the U19 competition compared to as far as comparative NCAA teams, but in any case, that’s great addded experience she already has compared to nearly every other high school setter.

Switch to a 5-1 with Charlie setting and moving Robinson over to take TTAs spot doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibilities. Coaching staff will put the best players out there in the best positions. I think GG still has a big roll to play.

Oh come on, people. GG had a rough night last night, but she came in clutch so many other times this year; we wouldn’t have even been still playing last night without her.
We don’t want anyone to leave.

They’ve probably been waiting in the weeds all tournament wanting to post that. What a burn. She only made it to the final four her first year at Wisconsin. You totally got her with that one.

Her length alone gives her huge advantages in getting balls that other bros wouldn’t be able to reach. Her reading ability is huge.

Oh, by "start early" I meant "won't be starting school at Wisco in January" lol, not she won't be our starter at the beginning of the season because yes I agree, the keys to this offense are hers the instant she comes to campus. My bad for the bad phrasing lol
