Isn’t Smrek’s federation of origin Canada? If so, what’s the point of her participating in the draft even if she is an NCAA player. they did draft a few international players (Sweden/Argentina/Germany) maybe to stay in the country? idk lol given them deleting, it doesnt seem like she wanted to

Not going to go into any particular reasons, but I’m sure not many Canadians want to be in America next year. She may have already told them outright she doesn’t want to play for them.

The point I’m trying to make is that any player who is not in the USA federation has to obtain an FIVB International transfer to play in the PVF, whether they’re in the NCAA or not. It seems superfluous or unnecessary to include these players in the college draft. (Players from Puerto Rico are not counting as foreign players, but if their federation is PR and not USA, they still need an FIVB transfer).

Kelly ripping on PVF in his latest presser. Not happy with PVF draft happening while the season is still going on. Also, he said he's never heard from any of the teams, coaches, or GMs for PVF. "Disappointed is an understatement. Incredibly frustrated."
I was going to say that.
Quote "there's a mess on our end of having to have conversations about what their futures are and disappointment or the excitement that is away from team stuff right now."
Similar thing I said before the Nebraska match in Madison which I am not allowed to say anymore for some reason.
Now I know why Sheffield didn't attend the event.
The silver Lining is we are going to play bottom feeders this week.

Sorry, probably dumb questions. But-
Does anyone know why Sheffield is upset about the PVF announcements? How does the timing affect the team?
And, if we dropped to 7 after losing to nebraska, why wouldn't stanford drop back to 7 if they lose to louisville? Would their match be too close to the selection show to count?

You mean she wants to be in Trudeau’s Canada that by any standard is an economic and social 💩show… I though5 she was an economics major? Is she skipping class?

Yes fair enough! In my mind I thought it was all a 'cherry on top' although I can now see it potentially being distracting/disappointing.

I'm curious, why did Smrek get drafted so low? I'm guessing it's because of PVF's 8 substitution limit because Smrek has to play 6ro which means she has to defend and swing from the back row Kendall Kipp style so she wouldn't play as much and come in as a situational player if her team has subs left. In NCAA with the 15 sub limit the team can afford to play Smrek at 3ro at OPP before subbing her off and at PVF that cannot be the case anymore. Devyn has the capability to play 6ro especially that she also swung from the back row for the collegiate USA team and is more mobile than Smrek and the reason why she's not is because Anna is ahead of her at OPP and is playing more of a hybrid OPP/MB role which can be afforded with the higher NCAA sub limits and Smrek's huge blocking presence on the RS which forces OH to change their hitting style, Devyn doesn't have the RS blocking intimidation threat that Smrek has maybe because she's shorter and her arms aren't as long as Smrek's.
CC has shown that she can be a solid middle and is decently quick to the pins and is an excellent blocker.

I think if that's the case, I think Anna may as well should convert to play Rugby Union for Canada who are currently ranked #2 in women's world rugby ahead of New Zealand who are considered to be the best rugby team in the world and behind England who are really strong. Canada or any other team would absolutely kill to have a player of Anna's size in their team since they are no one in Anna's likely Rugby Union position Lock/Blindside Flanker over 6'2" let alone 6'10". The average height in Anna's position in the women's game is 5'10" - 6'1". If Anna were to play Rugby Union, she would likely have to play at Lock/Second Row and even Blindside Flanker which is pretty similar to Lock. It would be a huge learning curve for her at her age but with the right developmental team and plenty of work ethic, I think she can do it. First she would have to entirely learn the game from scratch at club level. I think she has a better chance of playing Rugby Union for Canada than Volleyball as a 6ro OPP or MB for Canada. I can list out all the many things Anna would need to learn from scratch though should she convert to Rugby Union if needed.

Per Sarah Pavan’s YouTube analysis
Return Orzol to back row while your back court is ailing Takes pressure off Saige and Sarah poaching serves and getting exhausted
A detailed and scathing no holds barred review of the NEB match Their argument made sense
They excoriated my Gophers a couple of weeks ago I’m rooting for a bunch of B1G teams to go deep next month

That also means we will have TSC back into the game unprepared.
ummm. no. It's Lola's job or call it a season.
I suggest that Pavan study our roster first.
