Excited that the Hawks get to play at home and to see how week #2 goes! Looks like San Jose St had a successful opening weekend, Delaware is a veteran, strong opponent and Cal Baptist, even though went 0-3 last weekend, lost to 3 solid teams. Will be good to see Darling back on the Xtream court! Side note...being picky here, but if we continue to strive to be the most respected overall program we can be... - Wish Iowa communications/media team would include ALL weekend matches when we host an invitational on our official Iowa website, not just the Iowa matches. Many other invitational hosts include all of the weekend matches taking place on their own website (times, links for stats/videos, etc.). Not only is that super helpful/convenient/courteous for the fans of the guest teams to have that all in one place, but it's also nice for us as Hawk fans to see the "big picture" of how the weekend looks, as well as to consider in case any Hawk fans would like to attend the matches taking place between guest teams. See link below as example from UW-Milwaukee's website to get view of how that looks related to the invite at which we will be the guests soon (see the matches from 9/13-9/15 on site). AND/OR...I have seen many hosts create a separate "tournament central"-type site that all can go to to get info for an entire weekend of matches...not seeing anything like that, unless I am missing it somewhere. Anyway, just some nice touches that Iowa is missing as invitational hosts...IMO. mkepanthers.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule

Saw that page before. Some good info there. Anyone know if the non-Iowa matches will have live stats? This article says they will be available on the volleyball schedule page of hawkeyesports.com,but to my earlier point, those matches aren't listed on there. Maybe I'm missing them, of course.

Certainly seemed like a typical Iowa squad. Too many errors in multiple aspects and not enough pin production.

Someone has to help me understand how it is possible for this new, seemingly-vibrant team who enjoyed success just a week ago could come out that flat and lethargic...and in their first match at home, to boot! Faces were dour. Bench was quiet. Lack of sense of urgency. Completely outhustled.
Let's hope they can turn things around in this 2nd match and regain some of that energy they previously displayed. But even if they do, cannot understand how it waned when it did in the first place. I get it that there are going to be bumps in the road with such a young team, but to appear to not control what they can control (factors I listed above) is concerning.

Crazy up and down match tonight but Hawks win against a tough Delaware team (18-25, 25-21, 13-25, 25-13, 15-7).
Congrats to the Hawks for continuing to fight tonight after some rough moments and a tough showing earlier in the day. Garcia was unbelievable, playing in just the 4th and 5th sets. Essentially took over a lot of the match (kills, blocks and aces) and helped bring this one home. And have to say: Whittingstall impresses me (11 kills hitting .500 tonight, 6 blocks...and has a great serve).
Gotta have more consistency, both in execution and energy/fight, but this sure feels better than how earlier today went. No let downs tomorrow and come out firing, Hawks.

Positives: 5 set win after getting blitzed 25-13 to go down 2-1
Negatives: Struggling against San Jose St & Delaware doesn't make the conference schedule look very promising
