I do see that she is no longer following Carolina volleyball on Instagram. she is following high point which makes me wonder if she has made her decision. The UNC Volleyball account stopped following her already, too.

Any news as to where Babic will end up going to? Also, any more news on an incoming setter?

Guess Anderson will be riding the bench behind the best setter of the 2024 Class.
I know the staff already started looking for another setter transfer before she even announced to the Badgers.
I think we are done with trying to get another middle. My understanding is Engelbrecht is coming but has not formally announced, then we have Swift and Taylor, with Schutter as back up.
One other Opposite wants to come to UNC but is awaiting some GRAD school processing and some personal VISA clearance.
Morris is still weighing UNC but also weighing Grad options. Last I heard she is between us and SMU.

If playing time is more important than being close to home I can see UNC winning that battle. I’d also assume whatever grad program she’s applying to will make a difference too but unfortunately I don’t have that kind of information.

We are now following Taylor Eisert (S, MTSU). Conference USA setter of the year who has 3,568 career assists.

Was really thinking we would hear more formal commits at this point. I know that Arcia Davis is down to us and HPU I believe. I do wonder if the UNC Grad School process is slowing it down some. Arica just recently announced she was transferring to HPU from MN. So much for that get!

UNC pretty much she wouldnt be a guaranteed start. The MB position will be between Swift, Engelbrecht, and Freshman Taylor. Arcia could have competed for a spot but why when you can go to a good program and slot in.

While I’m sure playing time had somewhat of an influence, it’s much more likely she considered trajectory of programs. HPU is trending up and almost a lock in the NCAA tournament. UNC is trending down, quickly, and will surely miss the tournament as they have for years. It’s a shame the UNC program has floundered in the way that it has.

HPU has a proven success of building a program that can compete. I think UNC has just plumetted the last few years. I think this season tells us a lot about the future of the program is they coaching staff is compotent enough to turn things around or not.

You better believe that recruits are looking at the program and what it has done under the new coaches. We just don’t do anything similar to the successful programs. Starting with practices to the conditioning. It’s a shame but sometimes you have to fall low to sober up and pick yourself up. I just don’t see that happening with these coaches though and this low level of support from the university. If I was a recruit or if I have committed to UNC in a couple of years, I would be thinking what to do and I wouldn’t blame them. Sucks for us but we have to start doing things differently somehow to attract top talent obviously when HPU is beating us to it.

I got none with these coaches. 🤷♂️ I hope I’m wrong but one season seems enough to judge that.

Mackenzie Morris has unfollowed SMU and DePaul volleyball. She now only follows UNC.
Thought I’d add it here before it gets lost in the tea thread
