Update for Emily Ehman top 20 20. Allick, MB Nebraska 19. Tuaniga, S USC 18. Dodson, MB UCLA 17. Gary, L Indiana 16. Colvin, MB Purdue 15. Colyer, OH Oregon 14. Chicoine, OH Purdue 13. Haworth, S Indiana 12. Landfair, OH Nebraska 11. Terry, OH Illinois 10. Murray, OH Nebraska 9. Reilly, S Nebraska 8. Smrek, OPP Wisconsin 7. Hudson, OH Purdue 6. Londot, OH/OPP Ohio State I feel like Ehman is going to end up looking pretty stupid by omitting Jackson from this list but putting Landfair on it. But pedestrian takes from Ehman aren't at all surprising to me. Yeah, crazy she’s put a a former POY over a gifted Soph.

Londot, OH/OPP Ohio State Well the Jackson snub is pretty well assured now - unless Booth somehow gets it. The rest of the group looks pretty reasonable. Grading on what EE's curve seems to be (career accomplishments, weighted towards recency) I think if she'd have put Jackson and Colyer at 10 and 11 and bumped everyone else down (pushing Allick off) it would have been good. Clearly seems that Booth, Mruzik, Beason, Rodriguez and Franklin should be the 5 final reveals in that order (Booth #5, etc...).

HOLY COW!!! Bottom of the Big 10 Michigan nearly beats top of the ACC Pitt. 13-15 in 5th. Me thinks the B1G is going to be scary!!! okay lol it’s eek for Pitt but that does not necessarily mean Michigan is gonna be great or that the acc is overrated. It’s an exhibition match I actually think both are accurate.

As a Nebraska fan, I would be thrilled if they went undefeated, but it isn't going to happen. No one is going undefeated this year. There are too many good teams with good players. If Nebraska can make it through the regular season with only 1 or 2 losses, I would consider that a great regular season. There was plenty of good teams with good players last year, I don’t see that being remarkably different this year. There are good teams every year that’s just how it works. Plus Nebraska returned every starter that they wanted to bring back from a NC team AND added a Big ten POY, one of the top middles available, and two of the best freshman in the entire nation. I think it’s entirely reasonable to suggest a team that made such improvements could go undefeated. They still have to play in madison this year, in November...

Should be a great matchup.

I’m 35 minutes from the Husker campus. I am thrilled with their success, but I’m wondering more and more if the expectations grow so high because of the large number of media and social media enthusiasts who are so in love with this program. I hear very little about Kentucky, Pitt, Creighton, Kansas, or even Penn State; but how much difference is there actually between Nebraska and the others.? How many media members from the Lincoln area are responsible for covering the Husker program?

The expectations are high because of the results on the court, the record of the head coach, and the high recruiting. None of your examples can match Nebraska in any of those categories recently. Penn State could a few years ago, and - surprise! We all had high expectations for them until Russ retired.

I would suggest that Pitt and Kentucky are close to the performance level of Nebraska the last 4-5 years. Most don’t have the resources, including the short-lived NIL giving of Nebraska, but coaching can make up for much of that.

Maybe those programs should spend decades explicitly investing in their presence in the community and establishing themselves as a national powerhouse in the sport the way Nebraska did/has. All that they have was not given, but built.

Their winning percentage is better as well overthe last five years. I eouldnt argue that nebraska leads the pack overall, but you said recently so....

With football and MBB eating up most of the revenue money, we are going to find out which schools can field competitive squads. Nebraska is the only one who's shown they can actually make money. The gap between the top teams and the has-beens is about to widen.
