May be a rough series for the Bows. Still have hope but just hoping they make it a decent showing and Spyros replacement and the rest of the team rises to the occasion without him. Hawaii always struggles at the Mid but crossing my fingers.
Success for me would be them finding a way to snag just one of those games. I'll be happy as a clam.

The #1 AVCA ranking of Hawaii was a nice reward for a successful Outrigger hosting and performance. But being a pragmatic realist, Hawaii w/o Chakas I expect will struggle to find their footing for at least a week. Unfortunately, next up is what I consider the current #1 team and on their floor. For Hawaii, a quick turnaround from the Outrigger Battle Royale, add some travel, means some not so fresh legs and little practice time for them to adjust to being w/o their most reliable and biggest point scorer and leader. So, this week they'll be the underdog, and not by a little but by a lot. If they can manage to just be competitive this week, as a Hawaii fan I'll take it.

The voters gave LBSU a chance to create some drama by voting Hawaii #1. I would have voted UH #2 cause LBSU didn’t do anything to lose the #1 ranking.
It’s good for storylines and good for attention this week with 1 vs 2 at #2 home court.

It’s good for storylines and good for attention this week with 1 vs 2 at #2 home court. LBSU narrowly avoided a potential upset against sub-.500 UCSB with a 7-12 record. Honestly, adding to their motivation is the knowledge that Hawaii is their next opponent, is currently without their Top player/scorer in Chakas. With this key absence, LBSU will undoubtedly be keen on seizing the opportunity to further solidify their standing in the rankings. But I remain unconvinced that LBSU truly stand as the best team in the nation.

I really don't think it matters beside LBSU didn't do anything to lose the #1 rating besides watching GCU beat BYU to jump over Beach for #1 Beach should consider changing their mascot to a Pommel Horse for all the teams that seem to leaping over them week after week while Beach justwins pretty much expecting that if Beach can somehow beat Hawaii, then UCLA will leapfrog Beach to be the next #1

well this sucks big-time. gonna be a sell-out or close to.
was looking forward to watching the match-up of Chakas facing the Long Beach block this weekend.
Hawaii is still a super strong serving team, and going to put tons of pressure on the Beach receivers.
