I’ll write a big check if anyone posts a picture of that happening to wahinefan! Deal? I haven't seen that person in awhile. I like the peace and quiet. Lol. I'm surprised that you haven't blocked her.

Damn I don't want Hawaii without their top player I wanted to see this Chakas play in person get a bunch of kills then watch Torwie and gang dial in on him. Best wishes to Spyros he heals up well. Damn!

lol, maybe take this injury video drama to the Hawaii board, so people view it, bfd, those that don't don't have to watch it. besides, it's not really gruesome at all, sheesh cmon, yeah it's unfortunate and injuries happen, and just shows how much these guys push the limits with their athleticsm. it's just unfortunate - still gonna be a great matchup, all the teams and fans were looking forward to see Chakas with how much even more he's elevated his play this year, and the mini Greece vs. Cyprus match within the match. Hey beachbythebay, before you start thinking I'm a sock puppet; I'm not. Just a chronic lurker. Just wanted to let you know that I fixed your name: b!#chbythebay

In my opinion, the expectations for this match has drastically changed. I think the advantage is solely with LBSU now, whereas, if Hawaii has Spyros I would say it's about even.
What a match up for the Warriors after such a big loss. I am still excited to see how the Warriors come out and battle in a tough environment!
I do look forward to watching my favorite Beach players, Mason Briggs and Simon Torwie!

Will Long Beach have enough scouting information on whoever takes Chakas place? Will not having Spyros mean a more balanced attack? Meaning Tread actually sticks with using his middles more therefore opening up stuff for the pins? These are powerhouse programs with next man up mentalities, I don't think much will change and won't be surprised if Hawaii splits.

Although Beach has teh the most raucous student section of anyplace in college volleyball, which will probablly be packed for this.

The thing with Chakas being gone is that the OH production behind him has not been great. Chaz has not been super productive offensively. We'll see if he can step it up.
Chakas was also one of the frontrunners for NPOY, honestly. It's a big loss.

Without Chakas it will be tougher than we already knew coming in to this. With Chakas we had a very good chance simply because of everything he does out there which includes VOCAL leadership on the court. The other guys just gotta step up and want it more but over the years they've struggled at the Mid. With that said....I just want them to put a good showing there and possibly snag a game from the series if at all possible. I predict coming out that series 0-2 but if they can take one of um we will all be uber happy. Chakas consistency is what that team will miss the most in all facets of the game. Thiim or Sakanoko just gotta want it now that it is their time up.

Beach has been dominant lately (v Penn St) and not so much (v UCSB). Hoping for some crazy hard fought matches this weekend and the Beach coming out on top both nights. GO BEACH!!!

Hawaii should feel honored. Long Beach prices their tickets according to the quality of their opponent. Tickets for the Hawaii games are $25+. San Diego and CSUN are cheap at $8+. Irvine is $12+. Guess they don't think too much of Irvine. LOL

Hawaii isn't chopped liver but I think it's a drastic change especially when you consider Hawaii's freshman setter. He's been great but he's relied heavily on Spyros to produce for the team. The connection with the middles and Galloway is still developing and Todd has adjusted well to some spotty set locations. That clap routine is incredible in person and especially at the Stan Sheriff Center and is such a welcome addition to Hawaii volleyball tradition.
