Maybe beach is not as good as advertised cause ucsb almost beat them? Gauchos was competitive in the pyramid losing in 4 sets and losing in 5 sets a day or 2 days later in Santa Barbara They are definitely good. It's the setting that's the issue. If anything, we've all said that the past four years about them. Aidan been toying with everyone up for years, will turn it on when it counts. Smooth and perfect sets, diabolically unpredictable, out of nowhere dumps for points, twisting, twirling whirling around confusing blockers. Its the only logical explanation. btw he is better, he escapes his self concious mindset more quickly these days. He mixes in the clankfest with effective and sometimes unpredictable setups. Plus he's all buffed out ready to smash sets. The quirkiest kid on the block. Has a gear no one has yet experienced. I pray. |

I particularly enjoyed watching Aidan flip back sets to Varga and deliver BIQs to his pipe attackers. You put it well when you said that he mixes in the clunkfest with effective and sometimes unpredictable setups. He also seemed to improved his physical abilities which were already a strength in prior years. He's still not the cleanest setter but he gets the job done. His hitters do smart things and have different tools to deal when Aidan does miss the mark and that was evident this weekend with their low error offense. |

Hawaii takes the #2 team to 5 sets and has a chance to win it on what will be the hosting site of the NCAA's WITHOUT your star, leader and go-to player on the court.....tells me if Hawaii can refine their mistakes.....every single team especially in conference better watch out. Go Bows! If they make the ncaa tournament, they will be the team no one wants to play. This team has turned it up at the right the time the past four years. |

In 2022 they lost to LBSU twice on the road. And that team had its full compliment of players. And we all know how that turned out. I am glad this CSUN and UCSB home matches are there so Hawaii can work on, refine mistakes and allow this team to work on themselves. Not saying it will be easy at all....but it gives this team time to work out the kinks and test the waters just a wee but. After night 2.....we gonna be okay. Everybody better watch out. |
