Much tougher field than the women that’s for sure cannot say much tougher, pretty tough tbh, but each pool is tough, not in group B is already a relief.

The official pools: Pool A: France, Slovenia, Canada, Serbia Pool B: Poland, Italy, Brazil, Egypt Pool C: Japan, USA, Argentina, Germany Pool B is insane except Egypt! Upon even further reflection, I'm liking our pool even more today.

Upon even further reflection, I'm liking our pool even more today. I meant Pool C is definitely a bit “easier” than the other two but I wouldn’t count out Argentina. We know they almost took down Slovenia in the quarter final.

I don’t know where to put this but I came across a post in X. I don’t know how reliable the source is either. But it looks like France is taking Jouffroy for that 3rd MB spot and Carle as their alternate. And the rest of the team is as expected.

It's about what I expected. Really happy for Maase who had a great VNL and was able to snag that final MB spot. Surprised they're bringing a setter as their 13th. Not sure what Fromm is going to do to help this team. He just doesn't seem to have it anymore. Unfortunately, with Röhrs recovering, there probably isn't a better option. I'm sad for Graven. Obviously Zengler is the #1 option and they're not going to bring 2 liberos, but Graven was so good these last two summers while Zengler was injured/resting. This German squad could be a dark horse in Pool C.

Argentina has to be careful One of their OHs, Moritz Karlitzek, who is at 6'3 but that guy CAN jump and hit OTT. It is crazy to watch.

No one really saw them coming in the OQT, but there they went. That there is at least one day between matches is also really good for their load management.

He’s a freak.

Agreed, I think Pool C has stronger medal threats as well as stronger dark horse potential compared to pool A.

For me, the more I look at all the pools, the more I don't know what the most likely outcomes are for each of them , except pool B with Egypt. And that will make an excellent tournament!!!

That's well said. And with only 3 pool matches, every set and every point will matter. This has the makings of a very competitive and fun olympics. The most intriguing line through the last several years for me is Brazil. The last several outings, I've kind of written them off because they just haven't looked that good. That said, it feels like one of those "doubt Brazil at your own risk" kind of things, even when stacked in the same pool as Italy and Poland.
