Minnesota - Melani Shaffmaster. Likely not the best pure setter on the team (although she’s made great strides in the last year), but likely the best all-around pure volleyball player, factoring in every skill. Yep even though the original post didn’t present the question this way, I looked at the Gopher roster as if I was picking someone to play 2s with at a grass or sand tournament and my immediate thought was Mel.

Beach would probably be easier on her knee, too. 🤣

Too many unknowns right now so going with Nia McCardell (Rice libero).

Badgers Franklin Iowa Claire Ammeraal (freak setter) Purdue Hudson Claire Ammeraal might just be the “x-factor” that Iowa has been lacking. I’l be interested to see how this translates against B1G defenses/blockers - but not bad at the first eye test.

And cannot wait to see those on-target back sets going to incoming Freshman Malu Garcia on the right (who I also called out along with Ammeraal in my post earlier in this thread). Two lefties teaming up to hopefully help the Hawks make some strides this fall!

Good video. It’s not just her setting. She is the most offensive setter probably in the country. Big arm. Big block and defends well.

Are you tall? Otherwise probably don’t want the slowest player on your roster as your teammate in 2s if she has to run to the net. But probably the best at ball control skills given, though don’t know if she passed when played S/RS. Wucherer is probs the best bet for beach and the best on the team though.

I don't see a clear cut best player on Minnesota, so I'll just list some other BIG players. Neb - Reilly Wisc - Franklin Penn State - Mruzik Purdue - Hudson Oregon - Colyer Illinois - Terry Indiana - Haworth Ohio State - Londot
Sincerely, Captain Obvious
