Well that's because the length of the morning match delayed the UCI start time by 50 minutes LOL.

UCI was playing a 5-1 and lost set one to North Dakota 19-25.
UCI immediately switched to playing a 5-2 with talented freshman setter Jessica Bates, CIF Div. 2 Player of the Year, and it was smooth sailing from there.
UCI won the next three sets 25-19 (+19,-19,-19,-19).
USC grad transfer MB Katie Smith played as a 6 rotation OH1 for UCI and was 2nd on the team with 13 kills, hitting 0.296, 7 digs and 4 blocks. A good start to Smith's UCI playing days.

according to Live Stats. UC Davis is playing Maryland-Baltimore County in front of .......TWO THOUSAND FOURHUNDRED AND FIFTEEN fans!!!
wow, I knew there wasn't much to do in Lafeyette or West Lafeyette for that matter, but that's Amazing the locals coming out to see two schools that 90% have never even heard of!!!!
also, why have Lafeyette and West Lafeyette never merged? maybe some staff cost savings, I could never tell where one ended and the other began, it's a blur
oh, and Davis beat UMBC 3-1, or will defeat them 3-1 by the time people read this.
meanwhile UC Irvine and one of the Dakota schools played in front of SIXTY TWO fans. assuming 40 players and coaches, 4 refs, scorekeeper, 3 facility types and 2 in the concession stands, that means 13 people actually paid to watch the match in Albequeque (sic) at least unlike Purdue, they have an accurate count

Wow the stats says UCSB lost 13-15 in the 5th set against #25 Georgia. But the Big West schedule has UCSB playing Florida State today.

A win here would have went a long way for the conference opening day. I know it's tough to pull these out but respect means doing so.

UCSB was up 13-12. match ended on an ace
in the attendance department. 63 people attended in Talahassee, or 1 more than in New Mexico to watch Irvine and some Dakota school
does Georgia even know they have a VB team?
thinking the Big West should hold their conference tournament in Lafeyette though

Cal Poly about to play Sac State.
interesting first match with #19 Arkansas squeeking by St Mary's 3-2, 247 fans, respectable for a neutral match. nothing liek the 2415 wathcing Davis in Purdue though!
Poly plays St. Mary's in the morning and ArKansas in the evening on Saturday
Tulane beats Irvine in 5. 45 fans in attendance.

Emma Fredrick starting at OH for Poly, and looks good so far all around.
Poly is serving hard floats, they'll be effective this year setting up their block
of course that's thru half a set, lol
Sac State was about 125 in Massey and top tier of Big Sky. the tournament should be pretty competitive for all matches
