Especially after so many ties during set 1, I expected another dreaded 5 setter with Michigan.
So thrilled that it was a sweep!
And such a balanced attack!
Hitting .358 !

How good is this team? They have a game and a half lead on the rest of the league, but with exception to the two decent teams in the Mitten state, they haven't played a soul.

How good is this team? They have a game and a half lead on the rest of the league, but with exception to the two decent teams in the Mitten state, they haven't played a soul. Winning on the road was a problem last year, so don't discount the at Michigan & MSU wins. With new setter, Ashley Evans, and freshmen Brooke Peters & Alexa Smith playing, they will get even better as the season progresses. Danielle Cuttino seems to be blocking better every match. Amanda Neill is solid as Libero, setting a lot. Faye Adalaja is hitting a high percentage. Everyone at DS & OH could start. Annie Drews should be named AA. There is a backup starter at every position. (!) This is the deepest Purdue team I have seen in awhile. I think their loss in 5 to Miami FL showed they could come back from down 8 points & win a game. That was a great learning experience. They don't give up against set point. Purdue at the top of the B1G standings is pretty cool. Even if nobody respects that achievement because of the stupid schedule that is also making us sweat RPI. We did not ask for this schedule! I sure hope something sensible is done next year.

I will be interested to see how many other Big a Ten teams will be able to say that. They are both well coached teams. Purdue has been given a weird schedule, but playing Wisconsin twice later in the year and playing Illinois twice will not be easy. Wisconsin has had tough losses, but playing them twice towards the end of the year and having them at their best will not be fun. I was wondering what you thought about Workman and Epenesa not playing earlier at IU. Do you think that they will make an appearance tonight? I saw that Peters and Smith were both able to fill in for them against IU....but hopefully Epenesa and Workman will be healthy soon.

Absolutely no reason this is a sellout @ around 3000 attendees when 14k arena is so very close. Makes absolutely no sense. None!!

I would rather be in the Boiler Box.
The atmosphere is electric!
Mackey is fine for big matches; but, you don't have the "so close you could touch the server" feel.
