I feel the need to bring up another point, since this subject will go on for at least after Huntington Beach.... I would gather that Kerri is not the only player making a good deal of money for appearance fees, likeness, etc. from the βοΈMan..The contract is obviously out in the open because of the lawsuit. We have not seen any of the other AVP top athletes contracts for the past 3 or 4 years. Granted probably not as steep as KW's but probably not peanuts either. Donald Sun is not paying her in hopes she doesn't return to the AVP....PERIOD!! He baited her into this lawsuit and she fell hook line & sinker with the bad advice of her current agent, whom she needs to DUMP! Does anyone remember Kerri having the same type of head games/battle etc with Leonard back in the day? I do.... She wasn't the first athlete to go to battle against the AVP & I'm sure she won't be the last. My question is why at this stage of her career she would even want to be bothered with a lawsuit? I guess the answer is not only is it about 150k, but pride too. Wish they two parties sat down and did what is right for the sport...My feeling on what is right for the sport is for Everyone to come together to grow this sport. As far as the rumor that more than half the athletes have not signed the player contract, I don't know what the problem is there. Sounds as though the contract is top secret. No one is talking.

My question is why at this stage of her career she would even want to be bothered with a lawsuit? I think it has a lot to do exactly because of this stage of her career: the endgame. The odds are, Tokyo will be it for Kerri- maybe an extra year on tour after, but personally I doubt that. She probably is beginning to think about the future, and trying to shore up as much she can. What does she do after she retires? Coach? TV Commentator? Both could be possibilities, but probably not going be anywhere near the same amount of money. For a beach volleyball player, you gotta figure that once you retire, the sponsorships dry up fast in a sport that most people only care about once every 4 years. (many athletes make their real bread and butter with such deals, of course not sure if its same scenario here here).

Wilson.... I never really thought of it the way you put it...I just comes down to looking like a personal pride/ego thing between KW & βοΈ. And everyone sees it, except them. I agree that Tokyo will be it -IF she qualifies. TV commentary for sure. No doubt in my mind she is calling beach volleyball for NBC in 2024 along with whoever. Possibly in 2020 if she doesn't qualify for Tokyo. Speaking of Sponsorships...Not even sure who will be on her suit or visors this season. Her Asics sponsorship is done, her Wilson sponsorship is done. She picked up Lululemon & I believe She still has K-Tape. Asics & Wilson were huge for her though. Really, how happy can Lululemon be right now. Same day she was introduced as their elite ambassador, she filed the lawsuit. Granted Lululemon must have known that was happening.
I am a big fan of Kerris...I respect her as a player & person. I believe for the most part, she probably did try to keep this out of court, but man I just can't believe the greatest women's beach volleyball player of all time (imho) & the owner of the only legitimate Beach Volleyball tour the US has, have let it get this far. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but I'm just not feeling it right now. π€π€π€π€π€

I guess t Kerri is accustomed to being able to command and make it so, she is suddenly discovering a world of adults where her writ does not run. This situation is confirming a lot of her suspicions about the way the world works.

Does Kerri refusal to play in Chicago last year play into this? on either side?

Does Kerri refusal to play in Chicago last year play into this? on either side? I would be extremely surprised if it didn't. Regardless of any official statement otherwise

An announcement coming soon, inwithin the next week from KWJ that she is in fact only playing on the FIVB world π tour in 2017. It is public knowledge on the beaches in CA. Most players have already been informed. Have not heard who April will partner with. Most say Fopma. Not a shock. Glad we will have a definitive statement. I guess we all knew where this was heading. Don't think it would be appropriate to play on a tour that you have a lawsuit against. Sad the two sides couldn't work it out for the love β€οΈ of the game & the fans of the game. Big blow to both sides. πβΉοΈ

"Beach Volleyball - One of the fastest growing sports since 1983" Leonard representing Kerri? That contract must have one hell of a conflict of interest waiver. Should be an interesting summer off the court at least. I wonder how much loyalty the players will show to Donald who has basically been donating money to them for years

well done, Kerri; Really, WELL DONE. I believe this is really well done! Good for the NVL! All players are welcome! AVP needs to remove that stipulation out of the contract. Let the players play!!! Didn't know that Brooke was banned by the AVP....

Kerri has compared herself to Martin Luther King and this only confirms that she truly is the second coming.
