How do you know this? I'd be interested in reading the contract so I could post less speculatively. Do you mean KW could have just signed the agreement, retired, and collected her $450k? I don't think the players have a problem with KW's dominance; I think it's more of a "look at me...I'm 6 feet of sunshine, a wife AND a mom. I have it all." The contract was attached to the complaint. I read it. Kerri gave the AVP the right to use her likeness a few other things etc. but didnt require much else except that Kerri use good faith efforts to promote the AVP. Nothing in there about playing events It would seem to me that publicly boycotting an AVP tournament is not making "good faith efforts to promote the AVP". I am guessing that is why the AVP is refusing to pay her. They (the AVP) feels that Kerri has breached the contract.

Media deal is very important, but you must have a compelling property to sell. It's not about Kerri anymore. Not Frendrick, Sweat, Day, etc. or any of the old guard except April. April, Summer, Larsen, Reeves, Flint, and hopefully Lane, Urango, Spieler will have more appeal with the new ranks of college graduates quickly filling in. A younger generation to sell products and image to a new generation of fans. Beach volleyball must advance forward as the fan base had started to stagnate due to the age of them and the players. The problem is all the women you are listing is that they are not compelling enough property to sell. Don't mean to make this sound like a mean statement because not meant as one but it's true. Maybe April...but the media wasn't interested in her in Rio...They won't be interested in her in Tokyo. The focus of the USA media in Tokyo will be on the young team of Sara & Kelly. They will be USA's hopes at least for gold or just to medal. Sorry that I'm riding April off as a medal contender in Tokyo at the age of 38 post baby, but I am. Summer can't interview for beans, Lane is ready to hang it up and be a lawyer, Urango drinks a lot. Better hope for the college class coming in. The NVL will ride the Kerri train 🚂 if they think she will give the the exposure & media presence to get over the hump. Irrelevant and sort of misogynistic though it may be "Urango drinks a lot" is a great capper to that sentence.

Kerri to the NVL feels a lot like Beckham to the LA Galaxy did.

Thanks for the correction. Made the edit to avoid confusion. and yes, their Facebook live stuff has been very informative for a sport that can be a bit short on official info. They clarified some stuff about the USAV Collegiate Championship last week that I was unsure about, for instance.

FINALLY, some (well), facts (Posted by Casey Patterson a few minutes ago on FB):
Met with Donald and the AVP associates yesterday to gain more knowledge, clarity and future direction of the tour. It was such an enlightening experience with honesty and issues expressed by all. The AVP is focused on the future of the sport at all levels and providing even more opportunities for its players. Our experience was so positive and we can't wait to compete in Huntington Beach.

Yes...But did Casey Patterson mention if the AVP is going to let the players decides in which tourneys & league they want to compete on, on different weekends? There are not enough AVP tournaments & prize money to grow the sport just on AVP alone...

Kerri was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame yesterday. Here she is posing with Stanford's current beach and indoor VB coaches (two people who had nothing to do with her career).

Maybe a sign? Also traveled with Leonard Armato. Hubby & kids weren't there. Rest of her Family was though.
