And they want Nebraska at Omaha. I think this means they do NOT go to UW. I'm not sure Texas would be an easy trip to Omaha.

I don't care who UF faces in the tournament as long as they get to the Final Four in Omaha. I couldn't go to the regional in Omaha last year because of finals but this year I'd be able to go to the Final Four and I haven't been to Omaha in awhile so it'd be fun to go.

Here's a guess:
1--Penn State (Florida regional) 2--Stanford (Hawaii regional) 3--Nebraska (Texas regional) 4--UCLA or UW (Washington regional)
5--UW or UCLA 6--Texas 7--USC 8--Florida
9--LSU 10--Utah 11--Cal Poly 12--Minnesota
13--San Diego 14--Wisconsin 15--Hawaii 16--Purdue

I could see Nebraska being sent to Washington and UCLA to Texas to avoid the conference matchups. They aren't concerned with conference matchups in the regionals. And they want Nebraska at Omaha. I think this means they do NOT go to UW. Conference match-ups are not a concern, so it would seem, in the regionals. Case in point - the regional finals in 2004 featured MN/OSU and Washington/UCLA.

I'm not sure Texas would be an easy trip to Omaha. Nope. But easier. Easier than what? No, none of the regionals will be easy for any team. I think an arguement could be made that Texas could be the toughest regional. Florida and Hawaii both ranked below Texas. Texas has a win over Washington. Both teams have improved a lot since then so hard to tell which one would be the toughest in December. If the selection committee wanted the Huskers to get to Omaha, looks to me that they'd try to send Nebraska to Hawaii. I'm not saying the Huskers should necessarily be given an easier route to Omaha - you were the one the said the committee wants the Huskers there (I do too by the way ).

Easier than travelling to Seattle to play the Huskies.
I think Austin would be the easier route. Just my opinion -- running away with me -- but there it is. Not just because I think they matchup better with Texas, but also because it's not as far from home. Travel does take its toll.
And that's why they don't get sent to Hawaii.

Long way to go, but from where we are today, it looks like Nebraska and PSU will be 1 seeds, I think they will run the table, but would probably be 1 seeds even with a loss. I also think Stanford will be a 1 seed as well. So that leaves us with Washington and UCLA who in my opinion are the next in line. I think the toughest regional will be the one that has either UW or UCLA as the #2 seed. Florida and USC are probably the two next best teams, but I think they pose much less threat to one of the #1 seeds than either UCLA or UW as a #2 seed. I don't see Nebraska being sent to TX, because of the Big 12 rivalry. None will be easy, but the #1 and # 2 overall seeds will be significantly better than the #7 and #8, much bigger gap this year than last year.

They will criss-cross #1 and #2. PSU to Texas, Nebraska to Florida.

They will criss-cross #1 and #2. PSU to Texas, Nebraska to Florida. I could see that. And Stanford to Hawai'i with the other token Pac-10 team to Washington. ;D

If it went down today, I think Over and Under has it right. (oh my god, did I just say that?)

Washington - UCLA = UCLA = Penn State Texas - Penn State = Penn State = Stanford Hawaii - Stanford = Stanford = Stanford Florida - Nebraska = Nebraska I think the most vulnerable has to be Penn State and UCLA. If UCLA gets sent to Washington, who knows what will happen. Same goes for Texas and Penn State with a match at the beginning of the year going to five in favor of the Lions... Toughest regional would have to be Hawaii and Washington. Washington has the weather factor and Hawaii the travel factor.
