I am actually surprised by some of the reactions about the roster. Some of you seem mystified by some of the choices but it's pretty clear this is the main group that Karch has decided to work with in the last quad. Do I think Thompson shouldn't be on the team? Yes. I would've rather had Fawcett or even Hildebrand (what happened with her exactly?). But, Karch seems to be buying what Courtney is selling.
With that being said, this is a good roster. We have excellent middles, Banwarth is great when she's healthy and I'm really excited Lloyd is getting a chance to play on the Olympic stage. However, there are some major concerns. I feel like over the last four years, some teams have gotten better (Netherlands, Serbia, China, etc) and I don't think the USA has really improved much at all since winning the World Championships. Additionally, I fear we will have offense issues in terms of pin hitters. Robinson and Murphy have issues terminating and Hill is an average passer at best. Larson has looked bored at times. Bottom line, if the USA outsides can some how muster up some of their best play, we are obviously a gold medal favorite, but if they cannot we could easily be overtaken on the medal podium by any the three teams I mentioned above, as well as Russia and/or Brazil.

I think Hildebrand was cut shortly after the full Grand Prix roster was announced that she was on, similarly to Gibbemeyer. It seems odd that if she was named to that roster that they wouldn't keep her around a little longer. It looks now though that those extra names on the Grand Prix roster were always honorary, seeing as how Karch only used who he thought had a chance at making the Olympic team.

I was stunned by how much Gibbemyer's stock plummeted this past year. I think the US has the right middles, but she really fell off the face of the earth.

As was I, she had made a couple rosters over Adams. But I remember seeing her in one of the huddles being quizzed by Karch and she didn't seem to have a clue what was going on, seems like she just wasn't really in it.

It is hard to argue with the way Adams has been playing..... feel bad for Dixon--that was a rough break. but USA looks okay in the middle for a while...

Dixon would have provided good all around depth and a tough serve.

i agree with you on the track and field comment, buuuuuut she needed the $$$ to support her lifestyle, vball camps (ahem), baby daddies and family. she saw $$$ and ran for it. side note, i had a friend whose niece attended hooker's camp once. she said it was a waste of money. I would never go to Band camp. But, I would love to see what happens at Hooker camp. you slacker. band geeks rule! i was one of them back in the day. what i'd learn from 'hooker' camp scares me. hmmm LMAO. but, would love to witness hooker showing us how to pass -- worth the entertainment when her family decides to share with media and blast her baby daddy as abusive and publicizing non-existent camps and pocketing the money.

Before Dixon's injury she was arguably playing the best vball of all the middles.
