Agree. However, the ball control and passing of that 2012 team was just topnotch, but sadly it didn't got them a medal. For some reason, Italy just gets upset in the Olympics by a much lower seeded team. Their best chance for an Olympic medal was back in 2008 when they came into the Olympics as the #2 team in the world and they won the World Cup the year before that. But, Berg had different plans then. lol That match vs. Italy in 2008 is one of my all time favorites. Berg, Scott-Arruda, and Bown just took over. Berg's run starts at the 1:30:00 mark.

I saw some quote from an FIVB official saying they would support the potential ban to protect integrity or something like that. Whatever the FIVB would do, it probably wouldn't make sense. They could take Turkey, who finished highest at the Euro qualifier.. Or they could take Thailand or Colombia, the "first-out" from the World Qualifiers... Or maybe even Dominican Republic, who is the highest FIVB ranked team that is not in the Olympics. I'd imagine they would have a replacement if Russia was truly barred. I think banning the entire Russian federation is extreme and I can't imagine they'd do it this late, but it's certainly possible.

Surprised with Brazil's line up, most especially with 4 MBs on the roster, given the dominance of Thaisa and Fabiana and the "rare" playing time for Juciely and Adenizia in top competitions. I would have wanted to see Roberto (the Coach) "bring" in only 3 middles (Fabiana, Thaisa and Juciely) and 2 Opposites instead. They don't have another opp worthy of a spot and since Thaisa and Fabiana aren't young they'll get more rest in pool play.

Guess you were also watching a different player than the athlete that Ze also chose to replace. I'll trust his judgment.

I think Leia is great, but I don't think Brait could be considered a weakness for the team over the past four years.
