Has anyone since Randy Stoklos won their first tournament at Manhattan? Fred Zuelich in '73. Maybe Marlowe in '76 too.

Anyone know if they may do a live broadcast on facebook or periscope of the Crabbs vs Bourne/Hyden semifinals? Would be awesome to be able to watch both.

Phil with a medical TO early in the first. Hope he's ok. I will have to laugh a little if they end up forfeiting due to risked injury and AVP won't be able to stream the other semi-final and just have dead time until women's. Would be really disappointing on the AVP's end.

At least AVP can switch stream over. Really hope it's just precautionary for Phil. I don't disagree with the cautionary forfeits or whatever with the focus on Rio. I have to say though I can't imagine the players in the 80's and 90's pulling things like that. It seems like it happens quite a bit now.

Ugh @ the Men's SF results. This is why we can't have nice things.

Brooke goes down to summer. Little momentum killer after a 5th last fivb and now lose 2 matches in a Avp without Kerri and not even make the finals.

An asterisk for sure, but if we count the MBO Karch won with Luyties and the World Championships Fish/Hanseth won when they crossed the picket line, then this one should probably count.

My buddy says Bates got tired again during the first set? Does he have issues with conditioning? I think part of that comes from where he lives. Practicing in Northern Virginia is always going to leave you a little leg weary when you have to go to deep real beach sand. His general conditioning should be good having been solid enough to withstand Pottstown (sideout scoring, East Coast heat and humidity - nothing in LA compares) Hudson does carry a lot of muscle though. To me I dont know if it was weariness as much as getting blocked a ton. Kendra downs Fendi/Sweat. Ladies and gentlemen your 2016 Olympians! Hudson is playing with a torn meniscus

Trevor Crabb can be kind of a headcase it seems anyways. He really gets pissed. And I can never tell if that's just his competitive nature of if he's directing it towards Taylor. The brothers don't look like they really enjoy playing with each other, but they could both also just be really serious quiet competitors.

Has Hudson every had any relative success on the AVP? He seems like a player that really has to work hard out on the court possibly because of his build.

So I watched the semis with Crabbs and Phil/Nick. Is it my imagination or is Phil jumping and moving better then he has in years. He looked ridiculously good....

Not great success, but I also think that Hudson doesn't get the underdog credit he deserves because of his build. He is a tiny blocker. Ive played against Hudson a bunch of times and his size is not intimidating at all. He is dwarfed by a lot of the blockers on tour. He lives and trains in Virginia, or did until recently (it may have changed but I dont know). Not Virginia Beach, inland Virginia. Even his partner is out there at Hermosa working in real sand all the time. Hudson is training on inferior courts against weaker players and physically he is already at a disadvantage. Very similar to the Bomgren blocker in that.

Great women's finals until the AVP live stream cutoff at 10-10. They just can't seem to get it right. Hochevar is an underrated player - she's good.
Is Sweat/Fendrick the 5th best US team, behind Walsh/Ross, Claes/Hughes, Day/Hochevar, and Carico/Ross? Am I missing any other teams?
