Confirmed CC sighting in Madison per official gopher volleyball Facebook post. Good work gumshoes.
The photos very clearly show an A team vs B team scrimmage, so hopefully the plan is to run the line-up they’ve had for a few months now. Not to discount the value that Kilkelly and Miyabe brought to the back row last weekend of course.
I wonder if Hugh would let Miyabe serve before subbing Kilkelly in 👀
Cart before the horse I suppose. Eager to see the Gophers play again and glad CC will be in the gym.

To the eye, how did Miyabe's serve compare to Kilkelly's? If CC is cleared to go that can give Miyabe a rest. I think she did great going all the way around but if she needs a break for her knee then Kilkelly should help there. Or CC depending on her situation. (I know nothing, btw)

(I know nothing, btw) If CC wears the wrong jersey I fully expect Kilkelly to be a serving DS for Miyabe. I was mostly joking about Miyabe serving in place of Kilkelly. It was just another fun part of Miyabe’s game that we got to see. She served 2 aces and 1 error against St. Thomas and 0 aces and 5 errors against South Dakota/Stanford. Not a great ratio on the season but the sample size is small obviously. Kilkelly’s serve is lower risk than Miyabe’s but still has potential for reward. She’s forced her fair share of bad passes leading to predictable offense from opposing teams and gopher scoring runs. Doesn’t make a ton of aces but has made even fewer errors. By my eye, in the few matches that Miyabe has served, Hugh “let’s” her go back there and use her contact point and pace to her advantage. She served some bullets this weekend even if they weren’t outright aces. In conclusion, Kilkelly’s serve is more tried and tested, but Miyabe’s has more potential to be a weapon. Tried and tested probably will—and probably should—win out in this case.

Taylen Ballard-Nixon for BYU has the serve that I wish Wenaas would adopt
Check her serving runs vs Purdue 17-10 to 19-10 in the second 9-6 to 12-6 in the third and at it again starting at 18-16 to 20-16
Her contact point is well off the floor and the ball strike barely rises, if at all, and is on a downward trajectory with great pace very quickly. It is a float and not a top-spin serve.

Gutty
Gritty
Persistent
Resilient
Composed
There have been matches this year where the Gophers have gotten into a rut and couldn't seem to work their way out. 17-10 vs WI last month and the next thing you know it's 18-18
Today MN didn't fold. Am actually a bit in shock because they didn't beat Baylor so much as outlast them. Point to Point is such a cliche, but you cannot replay the last one or worry about the next one.
Plenty to critique...later
Let's Go Gophers

Got my ticket for Saturday!
Wish I could’a been down there this afternoon, but post-procedure, no driving until tomorrow.

I hope Samedy gets lots of the HyperIce experience over the next 40+ hours.
Her velocity issue looks a lot like the first half of the 2019 season when she was on the floor but not ripping shots.

This took a true team effort. I am so thrilled we get to see this group again.
Hat tip to the development of Miyabe and Wenaas this season. Miyabe stepped up BIG today.

Well, GA is GA, so it's mostly a matter of choosing a section, getting there early, and defending the turf.

The rat comment came from the live they did on instagram the other night. I didn’t catch the beginning, but CC was off camera and kept commenting.

Am I right in thinking that if Landfair is granted a medical redshirt, she would have another FOUR years of eligibility if she wanted it?
