Tri/Trevor get past the Grimalts in three (21-16, 18-21, 15-9). They play Evandro/Bruno, who also needed three sets to get past Berntsen/Mol.
Chaim/Theo did not fare as well. They lost to Varenhorst/van de Velde in straight sets (21-16, 21-13), and will play Nõlvak/Tiisaar to stay alive.

T2 vs Evandro/Bruno starting now.
On a side note, the weather in Gstaad looks absolutely terrible this year. Rain and even hail??

HUNK THEO and his partner will be facing off today against Gerrich. Sound like a real test for HUNK THEO's partner as he has been having some issues setting lately.

To go back to the qualifier real quick, was really hoping for a better showing from Chase and Casey. I'd like to think that Chase could be a factor on the world tour for the US but that was a rough loss to get bounced in the quali.
Also tough way to go out for Chaim and Theo.
Overall not the best day for the US men. Hopefully T2 gets the job done later against the Germans.

Things are not going well for T2.
Lost the first set and down 8-11 in Set 2 against Thole/Wickler. They were trading sideouts and I went to make another post and come back to them 8-11. Last American men's team standing :l
Update: 8-13 at the TTO. Looking like a 17th for them...

T2 came back to tie it 20-20 after Tri served a net tape ace. GER gave USA some free points in errors everytime they had match point, but ultimately, they got the job done 25-23.
T2 finishes 17th...

T2 may indeed be one of the top two US teams right now but they certainly aren’t making the case that they would be medal contenders in Tokyo.

This is a legitimate question....
Is Ben Saxton that much of a better player than Theo considering Ben and Chaim had a good run there last couple years and were a formidable team even having a good run at the Olympics? No idea what kind of player Saxton is but I haven' really thought much on Chaim standing out since he has came over to the US.
