I'm wondering if anyone actually knows who the PA Announcer for the Championship matches is? It's always the same gentleman year after year and he does a terrific job. And what does he do the rest of the time when there isn't a championship match? Which PA announcer are you asking about? There were two (with a 3rd in reserve in case the last final started late and the announcer had to catch his flight), one for each court.

So 352 picked their own players who received the award. The other teams or BJNC committee did NOT select 352s AT athletes. It is all based on finish. When each team gets into the gold bracket, the coach gets a form to select up to 4 of their own players. The coach will rank based on possible finish knowing that 5th place gets 1, 3rd place gets 2, 2nd place gets 3, 1st place gets 4. Maybe the 352 coach staff thought he was the 4th best athlete on the team. They didn't win championship, so he doesn't get it. Now you know.

Thanks for the reply. I will reach out to USAV to see if they can provide me the full list. USAV told me they would send them to me once the documentation arrived back at the HQ. It was on the equipment truck returning from KC. I will update the database after I receive it.

Not sure who kollar-dye is but the three boys who made it have been the nucleus of that team. And not sure I agree with the selection statement as for as long as I can remember it is a committee selection not a coaches selection which is also stated in the tournament manual. Overall this is a great team who play together that’s what makes them so good. The All-Tournament Committee was established to recognize outstanding athletes during their participation at the Junior National Championships. Fourteen (14) players in each of the 18, 17, 16 and 15 Open, USA, and Club divisions will be named to the All-Tournament Team. In addition, an MVP will be awarded. Team selection is made without regard to player position. Those selected shall come primarily from Gold Flight teams—the committee reserves the right for an exception. The MVP may or may not be selected from the first-place team. The Committee makes selections with input from coaches, college scouts, and referees. Individuals will be honored for the following characteristics: • Playing effectiveness and court leadership in the tournament • Demonstration of good sportsmanship, leadership, general attitude and conduct both on and off the court • The best individual players • Basic skills and all-around ability

I have filled out the form for the majority of those years. This is how it is done. It is called smoke and mirrors for the parents and kids. Don't believe me, ask a coach that has made it to the gold bracket. MVC, Yorktowne, SPVB, and other club directors are on this site too often. I would add that if an athlete has been 'carded' during the event (yellow or red) they can not be awarded to the AT team. So to answer your question Peluso got AT because his coach (Dad) picked him. Hahaha. Those kids are all good, but you need to understand how the process actually works.

Stop trash talking and go work on your game.

I explained the process. You are just stating the tournament manual. Ask your coach or club director. I didn't say Peluso was bad. I just said his Dad picked him as he is the AC of the team. Ultimately, Edwin Montalvo is the head coach and signed the form. Just understand the process of how players are selected. Feel free to email the BJNC committee. My game is just fine. Haha.

To be fair, I had tournament officials approach me right before a national championship match asking if they could change some of my AT selections so… if USAV feels like it they can definitely stick their hand in to stir the selection pot.
