What does Nebraska have anything to do with it? We know they got issues. OP was complaining about Texas. Texas has no business losing sets to Notre Dame. Notre Dame won more sets against Texas.... than they did against Bowling Green the week prior.... I don't understand why everyone expects Texas to just sweep every team they play. Looking back at that match it's not like Notre dame played awful and just beat Texas while doing so. They played very well so I give credit where credit is due. Texas still won the match but Notre dame is not just some scrub team I mean, they got 15 first place votes (2 more than Wisconsin) and finished 2nd in a message board poll. They're still #1 in the AVCA poll, which is the one everyone references. What is the complaint about exactly? When you say "everyone" you're referring to a few select posters on here, and frankly, they have a point. Why are you upset?

To be honest, once you get past Texas and Wisconsin, I have no idea what the next best teams are. I’m inclined to believe Pitt, OSU and Louisville aren’t among the best 5-6 teams in the country when the smoke clears. Or maybe the next tier just isn’t that great.

As a Texas fan yes it annoys me that Texas isn’t number 1 but I mean (look what happened last tournament😉) Anyways on to the point, Texas does not look as good as they did last year, especially in SR… then we have an inconsistent setter that still can’t set our best MB (and arguably the best in the ncaa) and they’ve had 3 years to get that connection down… Texas shouldn’t be ranked #1 right now, and that’s that🤷🏽♂️

Why didn't Nebraska drop? Looks like Utah moved up instead. Looks like that was a mistake. Nebraska should've dropped.

That Utah bump didn’t last Yeah they usually don’t there. Must be the altitude.

I think the gap between the teams has evened over the summer due to ball handling with the loss of O'Brien from Texas, and the addition of Boyer to the badgers. But the badgers don't really know who their OH1 is yet, and their seemingly preferred OH2 is out with an injury that could drag on a bit. Production from the left is a bit off this year without her. Plus, they seem to have a problem finishing sets, which was a serious problem in early 2019. There still is no backrow attack - that has been abandoned for now. I really can't tell by watching which team is better.

The fact that Texas got jumped bothers me cause pollsters are inconsistent in their decision making I don’t want to hear that they had a bad week and didn’t look like number 1 bs. They should hold that spot until they lose and having a couple off sets does not constitute a loss or near loss in my eyes and the teams under them don’t have better resumes. Wisconsin comparable yes win quality Pitt stands alone but some of their wins have been by narrow margins.
But looking at the poll as a whole any team 4-22 in my eyes could beat each other it’s still a weird year with a short turnaround and the after affects of covid still haven’t worn off. Should make for the most fun tournament in ages.
In my eyes Texas is the only team I am saying will make the Final Four every year there is one team that is a guarantee to get there and this year that team is Texas any less would be a shock to me.

Isn't that your opinion? Kinda like people ranking Wisconsin and Pitt #1 is their opinion?

I’m inclined to believe Pitt, OSU and Louisville aren’t among the best 5-6 teams in the country Based on what? Particularly Pitt, this seems very much like ignoring reality because it isn't fitting the narrative.
