The fact that Texas got jumped bothers me cause pollsters are inconsistent in their decision making I don’t want to hear that they had a bad week and didn’t look like number 1 bs. They should hold that spot until they lose and having a couple off sets does not constitute a loss or near loss in my eyes and the teams under them don’t have better resumes. Wisconsin comparable yes win quality Pitt stands alone but some of their wins have been by narrow margins. But looking at the poll as a whole any team 4-22 in my eyes could beat each other it’s still a weird year with a short turnaround and the after affects of covid still haven’t worn off. Should make for the most fun tournament in ages. In my eyes Texas is the only team I am saying will make the Final Four every year there is one team that is a guarantee to get there and this year that team is Texas any less would be a shock to me. why does Texas have to be #1 in the first place? Isn't that your opinion? Kinda like people ranking Wisconsin and Pitt #1 is their opinion? don’t be silly, Texas is the most polished machine heading into this season and have shown to be 3 weeks in. It is opinion but I think people are letting their bias sway their vote. Do the people who voted really believe that Wisconsin has a better resume that Texas cause I mean Texas has wins over USD, Stanford and Minnesota. Wisconsin has Kentucky, Marquette, and Baylor. Only one of these teams has 3 current higher ranked wins and that’s not Wisconsin. I am not saying they are bad but let’s make it make sense.

Texas is the most polished machine heading into this season and have shown to be 3 weeks in. Hmmm... Lost their best passer/defender... Dropped sets to Arizona and Notre Dame ❌ Do the people who voted really believe that Wisconsin has a better resume that Texas Hmmm... Wisconsin beat Baylor who beat Minnesota... Kentucky is a top 10 team (Stanford isn't), Marquette is a solid win (as is San Diego) ❌ Only one of these teams has 3 current ranked wins Hmmm.... Well Pitt has 4. (#23 Rice, #18 Washington St, #9 Baylor, #12 BYU, not even counting the past ranked South Carolina or current ranked Tennessee) ❌
I don't think there's as much bias as you think. People all rank teams differently depending on their own criteria. Having Wisconsin or Texas at #1 isn't wrong (and my own personal opinion includes Pitt in that conversation)

Texas was the favorite going into the season and has played well. Wisconsin has probably been the most dominant team so far. Pittsburgh probably has the best wins. They're all undefeated, so take your pick.

I think they all have a valid case for number 1 which doesn’t explain jumping the other two. But I digress it will make for a very interesting year to say the least I will say Pitt has the best resume although some of their wins have been by narrow margins.

It's curious that Texas can be number one on Thursday, win 3 straight matches, remain undefeated, and somehow get dropped in the polls.

I think Texas should remain #1 unless taken down! No one did that yet!

I’m inclined to believe Pitt, OSU and Louisville aren’t among the best 5-6 teams in the country Based on what? Particularly Pitt, this seems very much like ignoring reality because it isn't fitting the narrative. Well the reality is, nobody knows. I’m stating a personal opinion. “I’m inclined to believe” means I certainly could be wrong.

Ohio State will be the surprise of 2021 I don't think many people who have been paying attention this year will be surprised by the Buckeyes. That's been building for a while.

I haven't been paying attention, and I'm surprised. Or at least I will be if they finish top three in the B1G. I think of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Penn State as pretty dialed in for the top 4. Passing one of those when they're in a down season feels very reasonable. Passing two feels like a heck of an accomplishment. Anything higher than that and I'm more than surprised. Stunned? I don't know. Something more than surprised, though.

You can add me to the list of those surprised by Ohio State. And since I have not yet seen them play, I can also be placed on the list of those not paying attention. I watched exactly zero matches during the pandemic Spring faux season. (except some replay highlights of the final)
