Maybe they could incorporate a radar gun reading of spike speeds into the broadcasts, like they do with pitch and batted ball speeds in MLB broadcasts.

I don't think I noticed the ball sounding louder hitting the floor (on tv) but I definitely thought to myself that it sounded louder from the hand. Especially Kipp's hand. Especially down the line. Yowza.
I don't really know about their floor. If it is in fact softer, does that make it louder? I'm not following that.

The Maples Pavilion floor is soft, that's the only reason why a crew had to come in and work on the floor Thursday morning. It was simply a poor design to install such a soft floor. I felt like it was sounding hard off the hand than just the, especially some of the swings Francis was taking. I’ll be honest at first i was like, oh great another tall girl with no power but was surprised about how hard the ball was sounding coming off her hand I think it is because they position mics on the net line, one on each end. Those mics easily pick up the thumping sound pressure wave caused by hand to ball contact. Mirkovic, Baird, Kipp, and Francis all had their moments last night when they made good fast contact with the volleyball.

Now if only the UCLA/ USC streams could step their general selves up. Pac12 is kinda lagging on the streaming quality for such a high level conference

Pac12 is kinda lagging on the streaming quality for such a high level conference On the other hand, Pac-12 streams are free. During non-conference, Arizona streamed every match played in McKale Center for free even if Arizona wasn't playing. We were only able to watch two of their road matches because their road hosts (Texas and New Mexico State) don't do that. They didn't even have paid streaming available if the host wasn't playing.

Well with youtube pretty much everything is free. I just think it shows a focus on the athletes and is not like these schools are strapped for cash. I think production value goes a long way i highlighting a program
