Just wanted to check in with my fellow Boilermakers fans to see how everyone's doing?
I'm out of town for work, so I didn't see the match, but I wasn't surprised by the outcome either. The Wildcats are tough this year. I also feel like we've hit that place some of us expected Purdue to be at the beginning of the season -- inexperienced and struggling to find their identity. Still, 4 losses in a row must be hard on the team.
I'm happy Chinn had a really good game, especially at L1. She needed that. Also thrilled that Meyers got some playing time and made an impact.
Hoping they can turn it around against Indiana, but it looks like Northwestern's serving gave Purdue fits and it doesn't get any easier against the Hoosiers.

I sure hope that Purdue defeats IU this afternoon. It will hurt to have to put an IU on the Monon Spike. It needs to stay in West Lafayette. I’ll be there for sure and will cheer hard. Purdue really needs the support right now and regain their confidence.

I am not doing well. This is giving 2014 vibes.

I am not doing well. This is giving 2014 vibes. Oof 2014 was real hard. Started off pretty good, even taking (eventual National Champions) Penn State to 5. Then, dropping matches the team could've won. Drews being out for a few matches when so much of the offensive depended on her. Kiki Jones being in and out too. Val Nichol and Dimke splitting time as setters. Evans as a DS who had to play front row occasionally because Epenesa/Stahl were inconsistent. Not making the tournament 😭😭😭😭😭 Wow this team really does mirror that one. Thanks for the bad memory!

Well the losing streak has finally been snapped!
Who knows what next week will bring, but let's celebrate the now:
● Hudson is working her way out of that below .200 funk. I'm happy she's getting the offensive help from the seniors now. ● While Ellis makes some awful hitting mistakes, it's nice to see her playing her way out of bad moments. ● The middles/setter connection is getting there, but still not as good as its been, but Colvin/Clayton are certainly finding ways to contribute at the net and service line. ● Chinn is on a roll! First from the left side against Northwestern and then today at OPP, putting up 7 blocks and hitting over .400 against Indiana. IMO, she needs to be on the floor from here on out. I love Koch and her blocking, but she errors a lot trying to hit the same three shots. With Chinn, you gain an extra passer + what she can do offensively. ● Schermerhorn leads the B1G for most digs per set and has for weeks! Who saw that coming at the start of the season?!

Lost to Penn State because the refs blew a horrible in out call late in the 4th set before replay was a thing #neverforget

I agree with all of this bruinsgold. When the Boilers were playing their best, Chinn was at opp and Ellis was on the outside. I hope this continues. I like Koch and I think she is a fine player, but Chinn is more consistent.

Rewatching the IU match on the Big Ten Plus app. Did anyone notice the IU student with her phone before the 2nd set? I used to be able to post pictures on my phone but I can’t figure it out. I’m not good with technology lol. Someone must have told her that she’s on tv…so she wrote “No. 12 my @$$” on her phone and showed the camera. The hate between IU and Purdue is real. After the first set, I really thought that IU had a chance to win at Holloway. They gave Purdue all that they could handle. I really liked watching the IU setter. She reminded me of Bush with how she ran from sideline to sideline to set balls. Her serving was impressive to see in person. Purdue thankfully pulled out the win though.

If Indiana was healthy and held onto some of their strong recruits (Stockham/Blackwell), then she'd probably get more recognition and IU would be that much better in the B1G. She's fearless out there. She can be a solid blocker, a great attacker on the second ball, and when her serve is on, she puts other teams in trouble.

The press conference this week was a good one. I liked the end when HC Shondell spoke about the players that the fans don’t know anything about and how they are progressing. I am hoping that Purdue has turned the corner and can defend Holloway this week and the final match. Purdue has the parts, but need to play well as a unit to beat OSU/PSU/Nebraska and etc.

Coach Shondell gives major props to Chinn, Schermerhorn, Hornung, and Renner as well as complimenting the offense from Ellis and Koch off the bench. Also loved the way he really compliments JFO, tOSU, and Mac Podraza.

Loved the press conference. No question Coach Shondell is a great coach and runs an elite program. We should enjoy the time we have with him. He is an articulate and clear communicator. I thought the questions to him raised the quality of the presser. Love having the player stats on the screen. High praise for Ohio State.

Purdue has quite the ending as 5 of the final 6 matches are ranked or receiving votes, and the other is a Maryland squad that beat them 3-0 a few weeks ago....
v. (6) Ohio State (THU 11.10 at 7PM ET) v. (16) Penn State (SAT 11.12 at 8PM ET on BTN) v. (RV) Michigan (FRI 11.18 at 7PM ET) @ (4) Nebraska (SUN 11.20 at 1PM ET on BTN) @ Maryland (WED 11.23 at 7PM ET) @ (16) Penn State (FRI 11.25 at 7PM ET)

This class is STACKED!! When was the last time Purdue had a class this full of talent? Was it the 2014 class with Cuttino, Stahl, Dimke, etc? I can't remember what Mo Hornung, Cleveland, and Johnson's class was?
Either way, the future is ridiculously bright for Purdue, especially with Ali Hornung and Colvin being just sophomores and Hudson as a freshman.
