I definitely don't think aby freshman has ever WANTED to redshirt, unless injured. They want to come in, get on the court, make an impact, especially since most of them are used to being one of the best players in their high school or club. But I also think it's an inevitable thing, more so because of the COVID years. I don't know who will it'll be yet. Coach Shondell said on the latest Dig City that 4 of the freshmen will be there in January, so we might have a better idea after the spring season. any Idea which 4? Chicoine, Wollard, Williams, and Kane.

The depth of the pins is going to be so refreshing next season. So much youth, but so much talent at the same time. If I had to predict where the pins end up and who redshirts, this would be my guess (please don't roast me, I truly have no knowledge or importance here lol):
OH's: Hudson, Chicoine, Wollard RS's: Heaney, Rastovski, Warren?
Redshirts: Wollard, Anderson
It's going to be very interesting to see how this team develops in the offseason. I also wonder about potential 5th year players and additional transfers that may affect the redshirt process.

That'll leave just Renner as the primary setter. Coach Shondell has said (during the latest press conference) Yim is working on her ball control so she can see some playing time, most likely in a DS position, which makes me believe she's not in line for starting or back-up setter. Anderson could push Renner for that main spot.

With how the season is going…will Purdue make it into the NCAA tournament? The one marquee win is Minnesota, RV Tennessee, RV Utah, and RV Michigan. Is that enough? With the new rankings, Purdue is now 19.

With the new rankings, Purdue is now 19. They're in the tournament. No question about it. They could even host it they manage to win their last 4 matches which is a tough ask, but not impossible. The tournament selection is based on RPI, strength of schedule + other factors; not the AVCA coaches' poll.

I’m seriously thinking that they won’t lose out but I can be wrong.

I'm still really sad this season is over for the Boilermakers and I'll do my usual senior send-off when I recover, but it has to be said that this year's squad truly played for each other and no one else. You could see it every game. On and off the court.
Ellis, Koch, and Chinn were each other's biggest cheerleaders despite constantly competiting for the same spots on the court. Clayton was always hyping Meyers up when she got subbed out for her. Torrance and Brown were always laughing together. Renner and Balensiefer communicated between plays. Colvin comforted Hudson after the loss to Louisville. Schermerhorn was a rock for every player.
No one knew what to think of this team in August, but they knew. They gave everything for each other.

Coach K prediction on VT was 21-9 and they finished 20-10 so not disappointed in the season 🤩 but thought they could have picked up 3-4 more wins and a seed 😳 before the late season slow down brought a heavy dose of reality 🥲 hopefully everyone stays together and the new incoming class makes next year special 💛🚂🏐

Dave with his commitment signaling tweet… is it a 2024 athlete? Is it a transfer? (Looking at you TTA who recently followed Dave and other Purdue players on Instagram if that means anything)

2023 is going to be something special! Chloe and Eva both playing six is gonna be fun. And I believe Raven has tons of offensive upside still to be tapped. Can’t wait.

Purdue recently started following Sienna Foster on IG. Sienna plays for Boiler Juniors and Benton Central HS as a DS/OH. Maybe this was the commitment Dave seemed to be hinting at? It’s all speculation at this point, but time will tell!
Edit: just watched some film and I would guess she’d follow the Maddie Schermerhorn and Ali Hornung path and become a full time DS. Again still pure speculation, but I’m ready for 2023 and beyond.
