Just cuz u dont agree with someone on their opinions doesnt mean they’re a troll…its ok to disagree and debate…something we used to do in this country until everyone got so sensitive and started the cancel culture

No ofcourse not…to lose or have a bad game is one thing…that happens but to be dominated against a team youre better than in the FF is inexcusable…i guess it aint the size of the dog but the size of the heart in the dog Another troll to block: "I don't want to be somebody that says you got to win a championship or it's a lost season. I don't want to be in this profession if that's what it is and that's what our players are feeling. We don't talk about that. We talk about trying to play our best, trying to get better, be the best we can be, max out all those types of things. And hopefully along the way you're with people that you enjoy being around. There's a lot to celebrate, there's a lot to be proud of. It's a bittersweet moment because I know they thoroughly enjoyed playing with each other and for each other, and the fan base, and the University. But, you know, that's sports and they have nothing to hang their heads about. It was a great year and we wish we had a few more days with them, but that's the way it goes." I posted this at some point after the match:
"I'm not minimizing those achievements. My assessment was in this context; " ... when the lights were the brightest ...". IMO, that would be Pitt in 2022 and Texas in 2023.
Only the players and coaches know if surpassing some rivals and getting on the podium is good enough. Or, do they think it's Natty or bust with the talent they have?"
Kelly's take on "Natty or bust" as quoted above is the definitive answer to my question.
As a fan, I have a very narrow perspective based on self-interest. It seems clear to me now that the players and coaches have a much broader, more holistic view. Good for them; it no doubt enhances their student athlete experience. I will benefit by broadening my perspective.
GO BADGERS

Why are you here? It's a small person who after winning feels it necessary to pile on. You have to hope your team does not have the same attitude or they will get wiped by the huskers. tristen is not a texas fan lol we really dont claim him There's nothing to claim.

Does anyone know if the team is present for this Final? Highly doubt it. The NCAA probably paid for their hotel Thirsdah night bc the game ended so late, but then they would’ve gone home Friday after the AA banquet. They have finals. Izzy had graduation.

Yes you will. How many of the 300+ volleyball teams in DI have made it to 3 FF in the last five years? It doesn't help when the fans go immediately into trade talk five minutes after the Badgers lose, as if these players are not humans.

Against Texas in the semifinals it did unfortunately That was down to passing. The badgers always play a read blocking system. Size comes into play if you first force few options on the other team, either through serving or in attack, so you can make reads and set up a big block that requires difficult swings to score. If the serving isn't up to snuff and the attacking is hampered by terrible passing, then it doesn't work. You can't set up a defense then and you can't make reads, leaving big seams or blockers one on one on attackers. They lost the serve receive game. That's the story of the match. Badgers still outblocked Texas 10-6 so the size still mattered. It just wasn't as critical. Unfortunately they also were in the net 4 times to 1. Blocking errors are historically really rare for the badgers, so that brings me back to the jumpiness factor. It's how they lost the husker match at the end of the key sets. Jumpiness factor was overall much worse against the horns for some reason affecting several aspects of play. Maybe it was the pressure of being favored? Who knows. The problem the badgers have to fix is the brittleness of the passing. They made strides, and sometimes it was great this year against very good serving, and sometimes it wasn't. Thursday was one of the latter. You can't get away with that in the final 4. Agree with all you stated. When Texas stepped on the gas Coach Sheffield had no answers. Up our own serving pressure? Coach just thought we would just 'rise to the occasion' but I still think a tweak or two could have potentially altered the beatdown trend.

You mean four FF in the last five? 2019, 2020/2021 spring, 2021, 2023. As for three, I think its Pitt and Texas and Wisconsin.

Actually, I think I will benefit most by remembering to refrain from posting on a board where an honest admission of "Hey, I was probably wrong" is met by self-righteous indignation and a lecture. Really, who needs it. Pat yourself on the back and return to patrolling the thread for violations.

I didn't mean to call you out for trade talks. I don't know if you even did. It was more that I was stating you weren't alone in the Championship or bust mindset.
I guess since I've been around a bit I can appreciate how far they've come and so when they win Big Ten championships and go to FF and even Elite 8 I am happy. Of course, not satisfied, but it's not fair to launch into who to get rid of and who to poach because someone had a bad match.
So it's more my frustration with the new NIL/transfer era rather than the development of the athlete.
So I apologize if you took it personally. It wasn't the intent.
I've gotten less and less interested in the sport because of this new era, so I need a reset too to the new reality.
