Based on the feedback on this thread and it seems like he could have had just about any open head coach job that was open. He prioritized the family and staying in Apex, so immediately what comes to mind is the NC State job that was open a couple of years ago. I am not sure if he applied for it. It probably would have been closer for him to his house even. He’s not getting any job he wants. That’s not the right takeaway. |

Joe looked so uncomfortable, I guess being retired by the school makes the "tribute" uncomfortable. But it was at the Smith Center! BTW, first spring scrimmage is 3/9 @ 8:30 am... the 2023 schedule is complete as set up by Joe (non-conference} and ACC office New coach will show up and coach a team prepared by Mike and the three former players since the start date is listed as 3/6 |

A quick instagram study leads me to believe it is indeed Mike…no new coaches being followed by team…not that IG is 100% reliable…and yet…

If what I am hearing is true, the announcement will be very shortly and I am not sure Heels fans will indeed be happy with either choice.

The things I've heard have led me to think it'll be Mike as well, or EL. But mainly because I was told that most candidates withdrew. The posters who were talking about the lack of funding and support were causing candidates to withdraw are right... I've been told the same thing by more than a few different people.

And BC actually offered his "golden" candidate more money for funding and she still withdrew. and she would have been a slam dunk hire.
