Also, this happened a couple weeks ago, but the Pac-2 got rid of Kliavkoff a couple weeks ago. Teresa Gould is his replacement. Good for Teresa Gould, but talk about a dead end job ....

Being a commissioner of a two team league must be wild. How would the votings go, if they need to pass some resolution for changes? It will a 1-1 deadlock on 100% of all non consensus issues. It would be like arguing with your wife or husband……LMAO.

Anyway, I think this is only temporary until the Pac-2/Mountain West merger happens. At that point, I think that the much more competent Gloria Nevarez (MWC commissioner) will be retained as the commissioner of the merged conference.

Well, Nevarez just got there. She was the WCC commissioner before that. The previous guy, Craig Thompson, was like the mid-major version of Larry Scott.

I’m surprised these teams have not found leagues to compete in.

I’m surprised these teams have not found leagues to compete in. Geographically challenged is how to describe these two.

Geographically challenged is how to describe these two. hmmm, is Eugene any better than Corvallis? For Corvallis you'd likely fly into Portland and then bus over to a hotel near the OSU campus. For small charter jets I'm not certain whether there are any airports nearby with long enough runways to land/take off. The hotel of choice would be the Hilton Garden Inn since its literally on campus and very close to Gill Coliseum. Eugene has commercial flight service, although not many flights. The Eugene airport can easily handle charter jets. Eugene has more hotel choices but none are as close to campus as the Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to the OSU campus. Eugene is more urbanized with a better array of restaurants than Corvallis. Corvallis feels much more small town than Eugene. Eugene is probably best described as a small city.

I’m surprised these teams have not found leagues to compete in. It doesn't make sense to join a G5 conference yet. They get CFP/Rose Bowl payouts for another 2 years along with NCAA tourney credits and whatever residual income the P12 has coming in. Plus maybe something will happen with the B12 or ACC. It's a good financial strategy to sit tight the next two years, the danger being that their programs wither during that time period.

The Pac 2 will be revived in the next 3-4 years once USC and UCLA realize they have blown it for all their sports except football. The travel is going to be a killer for many of their sports.

Fox just announced they will broadcast a package of Friday night football games - including B1G games - starting this fall.
So now, D1 WVB (and other sports) will have to compete with college football on Friday nights and all day Saturday, plus the NFL on Sunday.
