And apparently Cook also promised this upcoming senior class that he will coach them until they graduate so that will coincide with the first year of the expanded B1G. I think there will be more talks or rumors when the 2024 season ends which is only one year from now. I think if they win he's gone, like what dunning did in 2016 Yes that’s definitely very likely and a fitting way to end. |

So the UA All American Game just ended and I think we’ve got some quality recruits in Cabello and Petersen.
Cabello has raw talent and beautiful hands, but she is going to have to spend time in the spring on her footwork and her placement. She did have some time in the back row as a DS with some solid pickups. She also was one of only a handful of players to get an ace during the match. I don’t know if Cabello is going to be a freshman starter, but as we’ve seen, one off-season with this coaching staff can make a HUGE difference.
Petersen was a stud. She was passing pretty well in the back, a few shanks here and there but some quality passes and digs as well. She fights to keep the ball up and easily should play 6 ro. At one point in the fourth set Team Ice ran her from inside the court through the middle, and she THUMPED the ball so hard I gasped. She has a cannon for an arm and I think is going to develop so well in Louisville.
I can’t wait to see where this team is by the spring matches.

Alexis Finnvold is transferring to West Virginia. A great pickup for Jen Greeny.
Another good player who just couldn’t crack into the starting lineup at Louisville. Makes total sense if she wants playing time behind Glock and now with Cabello coming in. Wishing her all the best!

That was a highlight for the program even if it means no sixth year for DeBeer in 25. Losing both Luper and DeBeer after next season is going to be tough, but I actually think Bankston is really solid and would be a nice complement to Petersen in 2025. There’s also Ava Utterback, who we really haven’t had a chance to watch yet. And of course there’s always the transfer portal. |
