Agree. Talk about losing the serve-and-pass battle...goodness. Most consistent bright spot match-in and match-out continues to be Gracie Gibson. Both IA and NWern are both young teams. Expect inconsistent play. I thought NW had a good game for them, especially at the service line ( or was that IA breakdowns?), which took IA out of sets 1 and 2. IA did not play up to their potential. They did show grit in bouncing back in sets 3 & 4. IMO Coach Barnes is figuring out what is needed in the B1G. He has IA players motivated and improving. Playing hard even in losing matches, no quit. He had a big job moving IA out of the basement of the B1G. So far in 24, IA appears to be climbing some steps in that regard. Last night not, but interesting to see what the rest of the season holds. Was really impressed with freshman Garcia and Phills last. Seems IA's future 25-27, maybe looking up. GO HAWKS! Whoever got the Iowa job was going to have an near impossible task of getting them out of the basement - the reality for the rest of the season is that Iowa may not be favored to win one more match - maybe NW at home - the first 7 matches were the easiest part of the schedule and he got to 3-4 which is pretty good

What's the latest on Kenya Prescott (the JUCO transfer player?) If I'm not mistaken, I think she suited up yesterday as the second libero.

I have seen her in that 2nd libero jersey on the sidelines during previous matches as well. If I am not mistaken, I don't believe she has actually played/gotten any court time yet this season, though.

Who are best wins for Iowa so far. Freshman lefty is the bomb.

Who are best wins for Iowa so far. Freshman lefty is the bomb. I'll take a stab at this. The only teams Iowa has beaten who are "ranked" higher (RPI and Massey) are Maryland and South Dakota. All other wins were against comparable or "lower" teams using the same metrics. They also have some head scratching losses. They are definitely improved and I agree--Garcia is the bomb! There is hope.

Hawks fans! Here's a match thread for Sunday's home match against Illinois:
EDIT: Also let me know if you're expecting a different Iowa lineup than the one I've got there.

Disappointed not to see her play last night. That is disappointing. I was at the match. Certainly not the Hawks best effort. Very hectic all night.

If you watch the replay on BTN+ you can catch the comment right at the beginning of the broadcast during player intros.

I was at the match today. Although disappointing to not see Malu playing, I will say that she was very engaged with the team, the match, etc. on the sidelines. I was both impressed and encouraged by that. Hope she is back on the court soon. The impact of her not being out there was sure evident in many ways.
