Bansley/Bukovec squeak out a 15-13 win vs. New Zealand after being down in the second set 15-18. NZ took the foot off the pedal on their end-game attacks and serves. As I recall, they saved a match point in the second set when NZ missed a serve. Not B/B's best performance, but they did come through when it counted.

Simo/Toni have now gone a very, very long time without getting into a MD. With the exception of their glorious run in LaPaz, they havent beaten a non-Q team in on the FIVB in the last 2 seasons. Coupled with never finishing above 5th in a pro series in the same time frame and I am very surprised they are still together. Prob time to stop burning money on these FIVB tournaments, and focus on AVP. They aren’t very good, or at least haven’t played well together in what seems like a year +

LIthuania lose in the Quali after finishing 3rd last week. Surprising, although Andressa/Thainara were definitely no easy draw. yeah that is a tough draw. New partner ship Andressa split blocking which is good for her physically. Her partner really settled down with some crucial clutch shots. Tough for LTH.

LTU vs Andressa on court 2 yesterday was truly crazy with the wind. There were a handful of serves from the good side that were basically unreturnable

Andressa/Thainara were steady enough to win set 2 then just fell apart and lost 5-15 in the 3rd.

B&B eke out a close one over Thailand. They were down 3 at one point in the third and clawed it back.

At 4-4 in the third of the Canada vs Thailand game. Each player served out to make the game 6-6. Lol
Never watching Thailand again. The screaming is crazy. THey're going to tear and scar their throat.

3 of my 4 favorites in the same pool and if Pavs can beat Finland they should all advance. Glad to see TaTa winning again

Vieira/Chamereau just forfeited to Placette/Richard. That seems to provide evidence that the French will still get a host country spot if FRA1 qualifies via points.

Nice win for the sisters Klinger. They are right in the middle of the race for spot 18 in the Paris qualifying. Their primary competitors for that spot, are LTU, CAN2, THA, FIN, CZE, POL -- LTU which is in spot 17 20 points ahead of CAN2, eliminated in qualis. POL is also eliminated in Qualis. CAN2, CZE, FIN and THA all sent to Pool losers game and are at risk.
Of those 7 teams fighting for Olympic spots 17 and 18, only AUT is in Pool winner's game.
Big opportunity for AUT to finish high in this tourney and close the gap to LTU, passing THA, FIN, CZE. I don't really think CAN2 is at risk, assuming no injuries.
