Is it possible that Germany can resist this set 1 curse of winning 21-11? you'd think there'll be a huge rebalance in set 2

how about some predictions I've got: - Lima/Talita over CAN3 in straights Talita is still an amazing athlete and Lima is rock solid. - SUI2 over GER2 in 3. I'm starting to see some real fire in Joana's eyes. - Almeida/De Souza over ESP2 in straights. Brazil is so deep, and these two are ballers - CHI over ESP2 in straights. The experience of the CHI over the youth of ESP.
oops, didn't even know they'd started. SUI2 prediction looking pretty bad.

also I would consider that Ludwig/Lippwoman are playing on a free roll in this one, after recovering from down a set and down 19-14 in set 2 to the Thai girls. Anyone have an opinion on the next round of playoffs after making a very unlikely come back?

good luck, let's see. China vs Spain is interesting to me. Xue has looked sluggish to me but Spain can be so unpredictable. Feels like that one will go to 3 sets

what is going on with ESP1 v. CHI? they have it labeled as a Men's match on vtv... did somebody forfeit?
edit...bvb has it as CHN advancing. I'm guessing Alvarez tweaked her knee in the Rd of 16.

The result is listed as "Injury Team A" I suppose that means that the loser of CAN v. BRA (6) wins bronze and there won't be a women's Bronze medal match.

Xia Bansley/Bukovec OR Taiana Lima/Talita --- Ludwig/Lippmann

oh goodness, they're playing with their prey at this point.
Talita and KWJ pull sooooo well.
uhoh, hope talita is well. Would like to see this team play again tomorrow.
Talita v. Ludwig would be a great game and bring back memories.

the class of Taiana/Talita is really started to show as this match progresses. These guys were the no. 2 or 3 team in the world for a little while in the early 2010s. One amazing thing about Talita is she has won 5 or more events with four different partners. Of those four, only Larissa did much without Talita. Antonelli did win 4 other events in her career, but she won 8 with Talita. The other two only one with Talita. The way she is always there for her teammates really shines through when she plays with Taiana. They are well past their primes now but every now and them when they start clicking you can see a little bit of the old magic.

Convincing win for Talita vs. Bansley/Bukovec. Great pulling off the net, as noted.
