I apologize if this has already been mentioned but I saw that VolleyballMag acknowledged The Citadel as having their best season ever at 15-0. Seeing as it’s only September, I’d say that’s quite the accomplishment.

The Citadel were determined to break that single season win record. Let's take a look at the RPI of the teams they've played this season:
# in parenthesis are the RPI Futures Marshall 3-0 (206) Bethune-Cookman 3-0 (324) College of Charleston 3-1 (216) Florida A&M 3-2 (223) Jacksonville 3-2 (229) Northern Arizona 3-0 (248) Queens 3-0 (295) UNC Asheville 3-0 (272) South Carolina State 3-0 (332) Florida A&M 3-2 (223) South Carolina State 3-0 (332) Charleston Southern 3-2 (256) Chattanooga 3-1 (183) Samford 3-0 (202) Western Carolina 3-0 (214)
UPCOMING: Mercer (208) UNC Greensboro (294) Wofford (75)
I expect Wofford to win in 3-4 against them. But I'll be pleasantly surprised and gain a LOT of respect for them if they can pull off a win against them.
For reference, Wofford defeated South Carolina State -7, -11, -18 (the only starters who played in the third set were the setter and libero). The Citadel had a 26-24 set with them the second time they played lol (granted, they also won a set 25-6 the first time they played). Wofford also swept Chattanooga, while The Citadel dropped a set (total points 75-57 versus 98-87). Should still be a fun matchup!

While some of those are typical bottom feeders, there are several teams they should not have beaten: Marshall, College of Charleston, maybe Jacksonville, Northern Arizona, Chattanooga, Samford. So kudos to them for putting up some really solid wins at what has to be an extremely challenging place to recruit to. I don’t think many 18-year-old girls are really into a military-type lifestyle, cutting their hair super short and wearing a uniform every day. Impressive.

I'm sorry, it was a little unclear to me. Are you saying they should be ranked in the Top 25, or are you asking what we think they should be ranked?

First-year female cadets at The Citadel do not have to wear short hair. Only the men do. Women demanded to be admitted to The Citadel in the name of equality, then immediately demanded preferential treatment when they realized equality meant shaved heads.

The Citadel has played similar schedules in most previous years, yet still managed to have losing seasons. This team is dominating and is better and more complete than the team that made the NCAA Tournament two years ago.

I grew up in Charleston, SC, and remember this well.

I'm not framing it. I'm telling you what the facts are. Women have never had to shave their heads at matriculation as men have always had to do since at least the late 50s. When women were first admitted to The Citadel, the school announced that they would be required to shave their heads, like the men. The ACLU filed a suit in federal court to block that policy. It was only then that The Citadel relented and came to an agreement with the ACLU on female cadet hair regulations. Women were first admitted to The Citadel in 1995. The Chicago Tribune article you linked is from 2018.
